your privacy.

when you make an account

• your email, first and last name, and a phone number if you want order texts.
• your city and zip, so we can show you shops near you.
• the kinds of shops you love, if you tell us, and a profile photo if you add one.

when you shop

• your orders: what you bought, from which shops, and how it’s getting to you.
• delivery and shipping addresses you give us.
• your messages with shops and with wareby support.
• your warebucks: what you earned and spent.

when you pay

your card details go straight to our payment processor. we never see or store your full card number.

when you use the site

• if you tap “use my location”, your browser shares your location so we can find shops near you. we keep your city and zip, not your exact spot.
• like every website, our hosting keeps basic logs, such as your ip address and browser, to keep the site running and safe.

if you sell on wareby

to verify your shop, we collect your id, the address you sell from, a document that shows it’s yours, and your food permit if you sell food. the address you sell from stays private until someone orders for pickup.

• to run your account and get your orders to you.
• to show you shops near you.
• to send order updates by email, and by text if you turn that on.
• to answer you when you ask for help.
• to keep wareby safe from fraud and abuse.
• to make wareby better, using what we learn from how the site is used.
• to send our weekly email, only if you sign up for it. you can stop it anytime.

we never sell your personal information. we share it only when it’s needed:

• shops you order from see your first name and your order, plus your address when they deliver or ship to you.
• companies that help us run wareby, only for that job: hosting (vercel), our database and sign-in (supabase), email (sendgrid), and later texts (twilio) and payments (stripe). the address box looks up addresses with openstreetmap’s photon service, and our fonts load from google fonts.
• the law: if we’re legally required to, or to protect people from harm or fraud.
• if wareby changes hands: if wareby is ever sold or merged, your information would move with it, under this policy.

we use your browser’s storage to keep you signed in, remember your cart, and remember the area you shop in. that’s it. no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no selling data to ad networks.

• update your name, email, phone or photo in your account.
• turn order texts and the weekly email on or off in settings.
• delete your account in settings. it removes your profile and photo right away.
• stop sharing your location anytime in your browser settings.
• email hello@shopwareby.com for a copy of your information, or with any question.

we keep your information while your account is open. when you delete your account, we delete or anonymize it, except order records we have to keep for taxes and accounting, usually for seven years.

every page is sent over an encrypted connection. our database is set up so each person can only read and change their own account, and only a few people on our team can see account details, when they need to help you.

wareby isn’t meant for children under 13, and we don’t knowingly collect their information. if you think a child has given us information, email us and we’ll delete it.
