1who can sellindependent local businesses, verified before they open.

wareby is for independent, local businesses: home bakers, makers, studios and storefronts. to sell, you need to be at least 18 and own or run the business.

before your shop opens, we verify:

  • your photo id (a driver’s license or state id).
  • the address you sell from, with your id or a bill if you sell from home, or a business license, lease or bill for a storefront or studio.
  • your state food permit or license, if you sell food.

a real person on our team reviews every shop before it opens, and we may check again later. shoppers within 25 miles of your verified address can find your shop. if you add teammates, each one does the same id check.

2what you can sellwhat you make or choose yourself, within the law.

things you make, design or carefully choose yourself, that follow the law, including your state’s food rules on permits, labels and allergens. you can’t sell:

  • mass-produced items passed off as handmade, or items you’re reselling from a wholesaler or drop-shipper.
  • weapons, drugs, alcohol, tobacco, vapes or cannabis products.
  • live animals, recalled items, or anything dangerous.
  • fakes, or anything that copies someone else’s brand or work.
  • adult content.
3your shop and listingsyour own photos, honest details, up-to-date stock.
  • use your own photos, and describe items honestly: size, materials, ingredients and allergens.
  • keep prices, stock and availability up to date.
  • your shop’s name, photos and words stay yours. you give wareby permission to show them on wareby and to promote your shop.
4filling orderskeep the times and dates you set.
  • set the pickup windows, delivery days and area, and shipping you can really keep up with.
  • move each order along in your shop dashboard, so customers get updates: making, ready, out for delivery, shipped.
  • mailed orders need tracking and must ship by the ship-by date. if you’re late, the customer can cancel, and if it hasn’t shipped a week after the order, wareby cancels and refunds it.
  • food, flowers and plants are pickup or local delivery only.
  • your pickup address is shared only with customers who order for pickup.
5returns, problems and disputesyour return policy, but always make it right.

you choose your return policy: no returns, or returns of unused items for 1 to 90 days. either way, if an item arrives damaged, is wrong, isn’t as described, or never arrives, you need to make it right with a refund or a replacement.

if a customer asks wareby to step in, we’ll read the whole chat and hear both sides. if we decide the customer should get a refund, it comes out of that order’s earnings. this is the wareby promise.

6feesfree to open. a fee only when you sell.

opening a shop is free. you pay:

  • a sale fee: a percentage of each order’s total, including delivery and shipping charges but not sales tax. the percentage depends on your plan.
  • a monthly plan fee, only on the paid plans.
  • card processing on each order, which covers the cost of taking the payment.

today’s prices are on seller plans. there are no listing fees and no ad fees. we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice before any fee goes up.

7getting paidevery week, straight to your bank.
  • we send your earnings to your bank once a week, for the orders of the week before.
  • refunds and chargebacks come out of your balance.
  • we may hold a payout while there’s an open dispute or if something looks like fraud, and we’ll tell you why.
8warebucksyou’re paid in full. wareby covers it.

customers earn warebucks when they buy from you and can spend them at any shop on wareby. when they spend them at your shop, you’re paid in full: wareby covers it. don’t offer cash or discounts in exchange for warebucks.

9taxeswe handle sales tax where the law says so.

where the law requires it, including in minnesota, wareby collects and sends the sales tax on your wareby sales. you’re responsible for your own income taxes and any other taxes or permits your business needs. we’ll send you tax forms when the law requires it.

10your customersuse their details only for their orders.

use customers’ information only to fill and support their orders. don’t add them to your own mailing list unless they say yes, and never share their information.

your customers stay yours: you’re welcome to tell people about your own shop. just don’t move an order that started on wareby somewhere else to skip the fee.

11closing or pausing your shopanytime, once open orders are done.

you can pause or close your shop anytime. finish or refund any open orders first. we can pause or close a shop that breaks these rules, fails verification, or puts shoppers at risk, and we’ll tell you why.
